Two Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
